Darryn Wade
Landscape Photographer
Northumberland

A joiner by trade, I took up photography in 2009 and was able to turn professional in 2011. Now firmly established, I sell my work here online and in outlets throughout Northumberland.

I’ve been a keen surfer, rock climber, fell runner and walker since an early age and have always felt a deep love for the Northumbrian landscape as a whole. I always try to portray this connection in each photograph I take. I find equal charm in our hills, on our moors and of course our amazing coastline. My greatest difficulty is deciding where to go on the day as we have so much to choose from.

I'm quite badly colourblind, so use only very basic editing skills, leaving the colours as they were at the time of shooting. I use digital cameras but photograph in the traditional sense, using graduated filters (physical pieces of uncoloured glass) to balance an exposure. I get a great deal of satisfaction walking away from a sunrise or sunset with the finished article already in the camera.

I've recently taken to using a drone for landscapes/seascape photography, along with my usual cameras and lenses. I've also begun using it for film and am available for commercial promos and commission work. I will also soon have a stock page here for my drone footage which is always taken in good light and with the same ethics and standards with which I do my Landscape Photography.

Many thanks for visiting my site.
